Cardboard, particularly corrugated cardboard, was copyrighted in 1871 by Albert Johnson of Ny City. Johnson used it for wrapping bottles and bubble wrap glass lantern chimneys. The corrugated container, as you may know it today, was designed by Robert Gair, who created a unit to generate large volumes of containers. This innovation labeled the starting of size generation and extensive utilization of cardboard boxes.
