Cardboard, especially corrugated cardboard, was basically patented in 1871 by Albert Jones of Ny City. Jackson tried it for wrapping bottles and glass lantern chimneys. The corrugated container, as you may know it right now, was introduced by Robert Gair, who created a equipment to make large amounts of containers.
